NRT Monitoring: NWP Model and Data Flow
This page provides near real-time (NRT) monitoring of RO data. The quality of the data is monitored by comparison to forward modelled NWP model data from the Met Office and ECMWF (upgrades to these NWP systems are logged here). The monitoring contain data from: GRAS on Metop, UCAR (Boulder, USA) provides NRT data from FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC, SAC-C and C/NOFS, and GFZ (Potsdam, Germany) provides NRT GRACE-A and TerraSAR-X data. All of these products are available on the WMO Global Telecommunication System (GTS), see routing headers. A selection of the monitoring plots are available for download in PDF format.
We encourage feedback on this monitoring site through the GRAS SAF enquiry form. Other monitoring sites are: ECMWF, Météo-France and NCEP. ECMWF also provides a Satellite Data Automatic Checking Service which includes GPSRO alerts.
